let's paint some rattan!

I have always had a thing for rattan. I must have inherited that from my parents. I hope to find a few perfect vintage pieces and paint away. I especially love that black stool above and yellow chair below.

lego it up.

The lego party went off without a hitch! It was really so much fun, but I went a little lego crazy, (in a good way!)
Little Curren's family and friends were lovely guests, and Julie (Curren's mom) was a very gracious host. What a great day!

(Lego bowls with fruit snacks, door sign, Lego cake pops, Lego decor)

(Lego & flower centerpiece, Lego-ed photo of the birthday boy, pinata, Lego decor)

(Lego heads, favor bags, drinks, Lego cake)

(Lego toss, Curren as a lego guy, Lego mess, cutie with a Lego pop)

(pinata loot, pin the Lego face on the Lego guy. Lego pick up with chopsticks, Lego lantern)

(the birthday boy with a Lego crown & an amazing Lego cake)

Everything was crafted and created by me, except for the cake & cake pops. And the Lego stuff that I bought, of course. I had such a great time, I think I might be officially in the party styling business! Can't wait to see what's next.

And a big thank you to Julie, for being such a great client and friend! I am so honored you provided me with this opportunity!
And a BIG shout out to my beautiful sister Maja, who lent a hand as my assistant/nanny/wardrobe/life coach/cheerleader.

Lego rehash.

The highlight of my weekend was the time spent creating a Lego pinata for an upcoming styling job. Making a pinata is way more fun than I ever imagined it could be. Can't wait for the next one.

How was your weekend?

banner's birthday & valentines

I am happy to report that the kids valentine's are completed. We went with the idea from design mom a few years ago. Not original, but so cute and the process was fairly quick and painless. So, all 65 valentines are done, and I could not be happier.

Also this weekend, we celebrated banner turning two. Boy do we love our dog. But isn't he cute?

super sunday

I have never been known to be a big sports fan, but I do love a good party! I mean who doesn't love a great party with good people and great snacks & drinks? We were lucky enough to be invited in a super party....we brought chips, guacamole and cupcakes.

Did you know that if you microwave a tootsie roll for a few seconds in the microwave, they can easily be shaped into anything? I piped a little white icing to represent the thread with my steadiest hand.

Each little tootsie football was added to a green icing field. These were a big hit with the kids!

{four for Friday} & yes, I am still around.

While I sort of feel like I owe you an apology. . . on the other hand . . I am not one that subscribes to the 'fake it until you make it' mode.  If I am not feeling it, then why bother, you know? I try to apply this to all aspects in life...food, friends, outfits, television shows....writing blogs, etc.

I have tried to get to the computer (really I have) but there is all the life details that need attending. Double knots to untie, girl scout cookies to sell, stuffed animals to find, phone calls to return, beds to make, laundry to fold. cookies to bake, dinner to cook...I know all mothers could relate to all this! Oh and I try to remember to be kind and stay close with my sweet husband and my dear friends who keep me afloat in the flood of it all.

so point being,
while it may be a little inconsistent and sometimes a little bit of radio silence, I am committed to share on this blog when I can!

I can hardly believe it's nearly Valentine's day. I am still celebrating winter whites.
happy weekend-ing!!
